A painting is only as good as the original subject or scene. I’m on a constant quest to find my next original – I’m looking at interesting angles, lighting, connections, confidence, openness, passion, mystery, a story, chemistry, imagination, sensuality, excitement, maturity and life experiences (females 30+)… a combination of touch points and emotions that I can translate into art.

The work I create has to convey a certain allure. I paint out of passion but my work also needs to trigger a response beyond beauty; I look at my subjects with imaginative eyes to paint works that attract a broader audience.
The process.
First, we meet to see if there is chemistry. I want to hear your story. When I paint, I need to feel a connection. Then, we’ll craft a story and together, uncover the right expression, the angle, the pose. We’ll experiment with different shots.
Typically, I paint from photographs as each painting usually takes several hours or days and can even stretch over several weeks. Photographs provide a reliable source of colours, angles, shadows and highlights. Occasionally, I paint live, in-person.
